Detail pages won't load, but homepage loads, restart solves it

Every 2-3 weeks our discourse (which we love btw!) has the following symptoms:

  • the homepage loads
  • if you navigate to a post (I call it a “Detail page”) it just shows you the spinny icon and no content loads
  • when in that state and I point the browser tools at it, the network section shows all requests completing with 200 OK

A restart of the services fixes it. Our IT folks host our instance, so I don’t know what version it is, apologies.

Any idea what’s going on? I tried searching for an issue, but I didn’t see something just like this.

Restart what services how?

It’s in the headers that you can see in your browser. Did they do a standard install?

Is there anything in the “Console” tab of your browser?

I’ve invited our admins to speak to the way it’s installed and what “restart” means exactly.

Re the “console” output, it’s been fixed now, but the next time I observe it I’ll look.
