We’re in the process of moving one of our long-standing mailing lists to use a Discourse forum category. We’d like to have Discourse send a weekly digest to the existing list — we’ve got many long-time lurkers who won’t necessarily migrate but would still like to see the current activity.

I can (I think!) do this by creating a dummy account, and having that account get email and forward it on, but this seems a little fragile. Is there another way to do this?

Indeed - I think that email sender would quickly get added to various email blacklists.

Perhaps a better approach would be to import the users and add them to the group, then bulk activate them if you are very confident that the emails are valid.
