Back in October 2025 we announced the Discourse MCP.
It has been incredibly useful to many of you!
Today I am happy to announce the “next iteration” of the MCP local server 
Version 0.3 of Discourse MCP now ships with 131 tools, compared to the 25 tools in 0.2.9.
It introduces a new concept called “toolsets”.
By default, you only have a limited amount of tools available, similar to how it always worked. However, by specifying toolsets (including toolset=all), you expose more features ranging from workflow generation, administration, AI configuration, analytics, theme creation, and more.
The new breed of MCP clients (Codex, Claude Code, and more) now support MCP servers with huge amounts of tools. This allows you to safely specify that you are interested in all toolsets and let the agents do the work of figuring out which tools to include in your context.
