Do admins bypass "Max mentions per post" setting value?

I need to mention several dozen users in a public topic.

The use case: we are gathering photos to be set in a welcome banner. The photo selection contains several dozen pictures posted by many members.

I want to get the authorization from each author before putting them in a banner, while showing the selection to anyone so it can be discussed as well.

My topic will contain all the selected pictures, and a @mention of each author so they can agree or not.

I could set the Max mentions per post to an arbitrarily high value for this purpose, but I’d like to know if this setting is bypassed by admin or staff.

Also, can technical issues come from mentioning a high number of users?

The limit is not applied to admins and staff. Staff members (moderators and admins) can mention as many users as needed in a single post.

If you mention an extremely large number of users very frequently, you might cause performance issues—primarily related to notifications and emails.
