Also, if it doesn’t, will the mentions stop working?
Also, if they do stop working, is there a way for me to find all the posts where it was mentioned, so I can manually update them? (I found out I can search #square-full and it finds tags, may something similar)

That’s why they all end with the category id. The slug doesn’t matter, like with topics. In the old days if you renamed a category it would make a redirect somehow.
