Discourse 팀이 대규모 제3자 인스턴스를 올바른 방향으로 유도한 적이 있나요?

,

Gradle is, obviously, immensely popular, as the backbone for Java, and, thus, AOSP. However, its Discourse instance is literally unusable:

https://github.com/gradle/community/issues/271#issue-3996947387

I realise that this may appear extraneous, but would it be unreasonable for just someone from the Discourse team to contact the site operators, to nudge them in the correct direction? I ask because it would provide a very poor first impression, if I were a new Discourse user.

For comparison, albeit partially because it’s so absurdly restrictive, proprietary alternatives generally wouldn’t permit CSS overrides, that so gratuitously violate WCAG AA.

My sincere apologies if this is off-topic, if the answer is no.

Context: https://discuss.gradle.org/

I had a look and eventho the colour issues are definitely valid, the overall first impression of the forum isn’t bad at all. I’ve seen way worse.

In general, reaching out to nudge a forum is not something we do, unless it is dramatic.

I can see from the comments in the github report that the forum admins may be aware and are just ignoring the issue… While unfortunate, that is their prerogative

By using safe-mode you can disable all customizations for your user session.

Just visit through this link https://discuss.gradle.org/?safe_mode=no_themes

@RGJ, thank you! I need to create ViolentMonkey script that applies that to all Discourse instances; that’s wonderful.

Please keep this in mind and don’t be confused in the future about why, for example, the great placeholders in documentation topics don’t work for you here.

@Moin, I can’t say that I’m familiar with what you refer to.

Theme components also add features to Discourse forums, so disabling them by default can also result in a worse experience. Placeholder Forms is one example used here on Meta.

A topic is easier to understand if you see what the author wanted you to see:

Instead of just this:

This is one example of what changes when you apply safe mode on all forums (which includes Meta). Other forums may have different customizations they expect their users to see. Banners with information, previews of hidden categories, etc.

@Moin, thanks. A whitelist it’ll be, then. Apologies for being so naïvely overzealous.
