Double Likes showing up for reactions-disabled sites

Hello - noticed today that the double likes are showing up again for on our site, which has reactions disabled and only the like button available.

This issue came up a couple months ago and there was a workaround, but seems the latest update has impacted this. Here’s the original thread:

Can we please get the old overlay back as on option for forums that don’t use other reactions? My forum uses likes only, and it was perfect to see the like count as a grouping right next to the heart. The pop up and scroll through just ruined the formatting and simplicity of it.

Are you referring to this part where 2 hearts show up?

This is intentional, in a recent change. Likes are moved over to be more consistent with reactions, instead of the count appearing next to the button.

I believe we wanted to limit this change only when reactions are enabled.

I think this is likely due to the upcoming change where we are enabling reactions by default.

If you set the upcoming change for Enable Discourse reactions by default to “No one” you can opt out of this.
