Whenever I edit something on my original post, for example the very first - and maybe the only - message, does that make the post go up on the feed, similar to a “bump”? Or only when I actually add a new reply?
If edits don’t push it to the top, I remember seeing that there’s the bump feature. Is that a way to push it back to the top of the feed? If so, as an admin, do I have unlimited bumps or is it hardcoded into Discourse where each person can only have N bumps per day/month, regardless of their level?
I had to uninstall Discourse a few months ago, but I will install it again sometime next year (wanna plan as much as possible before starting to spend money again for no reason), so at the moment I can’t test what I’m asking here.
There’s not really a “bump feature” like something you can just click. For normal non-wiki topics, bumping happens naturally when someone replies, and there’s Configuring auto-bumping for topics on a per-category basis.
A way to do it manually is by changing the timestamp as described here – although re-dating topics could cause confusion.
(You may also notice the Reset Bump Date option on the topic wrench menu. This basically un-bumps a topic if you don’t want a reply to move it up on the topic list.)
