The discussion is about editing the description of “Ignore channel-wide mentions” in the Preferences/Chat page. JammyDodger suggests changing the description from “Do not send notifications for channel-wide mentions (@here and @all)” to “Do not receive notifications for channel-wide mentions (@here and @all)” to better reflect its actual function. fzngagan and seong agree and propose alternative phrases such as “Suppress”, “Opt out of receiving notifications”, which seong also finds acceptable. JammyDodger refines the suggested phrase to “Opt-out of receiving notifications for channel-wide mentions (@here and @all)” and also considers making it an opt-in feature by default.
And just to add a little extra info, you can opt-out of these channel-wide mentions from your Preferences/Chat page
Though It reads like you opt-out of sending them, rather than receiving them
I think Do not send notifications for channel-wide mentions (@here and @all) should be 'Do not receive…'
