Email notifications on Android dark mode devices loses preformatted text contrast

Platform: Thunderbird 12.1 on Android

Description: For mobile devices running Android, email notifications received in Thunderbird don’t display usable contrast on preformatted text in the message body, instead, using white text on a light grey background.

Reproducible steps:

  1. Ensure Android device is running in “Dark Mode”.
  2. Open a Discourse-generated email notification that uses preformatted text tags in the post body.
  3. View white text on a light-grey highlight background color.
