Hi - I created an event 3 weeks ago, now nothing happens when i try to create an event. I am going nuts. Does anyone have a solution?

I have done all of the recommended troubleshooting:

  • Updated Chrome, cleared cache
  • Tried on Chrome, Incognito, Firefox
  • My permissions (Admin) are the same as developer’s permissions
  • No events start/end restrictions
  • Groups set to be able to create events include Admin
  • I am creating topic within category that is allowed in settings for events
  • Turned off all browser extensions except LastPass

Main thing is - developer can create, and I cannot, so it seems to be a computer issue (??)

He is wondering if it is a timezone issue of some sort. He is in India and can create (only after he deleted the start/end restrictions). I am in California and cannot create. But I did create once weeks ago!

What’s your date format?

I have a similar issue Events not being created / date misparsed

Was this an event before September 13?

When the month and day are swapped, dates Sept 1 - Sept 12 are valid dates (Jan 1 - December 1) but September 13 becomes invalid (there is no first day of the thirteenth month).

I bet you can create an event between October 1st and October 12th.

Hi Richard - Thanks so much for your super quick reply! I am actually hosted on Communiteq.

My event date format is Wed, Sep 24 9:16 PM" → 10:46 PM. This is an event my developer created today.

I might have created my successful event before 9/13 (since deleted) but I just tried creating one now for 10/8 and it did not work.

My developer’s computer time format is day/mo/year. He can create event and it shows up in the Discourse chosen event format of mo/day/year.

So, in sum, I think my issue is probably something other than the “non-existing” date issue (month 13). The search for a solution continues…

I have the Redditish theme if that might be relevant.

Hi Tomas - Yes I am entering the date in the preset calendar as well, not entering it manually. That works for you and creates the event?

PS I might have flagged your reply (and mine) by mistake. I was logged out and trying to hit the reply button, but that doesn’t appear unless you are logged in.

There are indeed two deleted posts in this topic. Sorry about that! Funny that you landed on the flag button instead and weren’t deterred by it! :rofl:

In any event, were you able to resolve your issue? What was the solution?

Hi Tobias - Thanks for checking in to see how things are going on this post. No, I haven’t found a solution. When I hit the Create Event + sign it just doesn’t do anything at all… It’s a dead end. Developer can create an event, and I cannot… Do you have any ideas on how I could troubleshoot beyond what I’ve done already (see above)?
