It would be great if the sites added to the DiscourseHub app for Apple’s mobile operating systems (iOS, iPadOS) were automatically synced between devices. This would allow me to sync them on my M1 Mac Mini too, which I can install the mobile app on. I have about 30 discourse sites that I have accounts for, so the app is essential for me.
I’d really love to see this implemented as well. I use multiple Discourse-based forums daily, and every time I switch to a new device (iPhone → iPad → Mac, etc.) I have to manually re-add each community to the Discourse Hub app again.
I completely understand that sign-ins remain per-forum, but the list of communities itself should be able to sync. That part doesn’t contain any sensitive authentication data - it’s basically just a set of URLs. Syncing that would save a lot of repetitive setup and make the Hub experience feel much more cohesive across devices.
On iOS specifically, iCloud sync would be an easy and platform-native solution, and now that Discourse has introduced the “Discourse ID” system, it might even be possible to sync the list using that instead, which would benefit users on all platforms.
Just saw…they might already work on something like that:
However, this would be a huge quality-of-life improvement, especially for those of us who follow many different Discourse communities.
