What if I just load safe mode ? eg https://forum.longevitybase.org/t/microbiome2-thread/511/1?safe_mode=no_plugins%2Cno_themes but today, it lags on safe mode . if it doesn’t load on safe mode , would deeper changes have to be made?

Why not simply remove the plugin from your app.yml file?

Safe mode only disables the frontend code of plugins. So problems in the backend might still affect your forum.
