Conteúdo Restrito?

Just wondering if there is a way to accomplish what I am looking to do. I know this may seem ‘anti community’, but I plan to use Discourse as a Newsletter/Discussion platform. Here is what I am curious about.

  1. A long form blog type post is created. After x amount of words, or x amount of scrolling, pop up something asking them to sign up to continue reading
  2. OR. A long form blog type post is created. After x amount of words, or x amount of scrolling, blur the remaining text so it is only available if they sign up.

If you’re satisfied with annoying users with the blur rather than actually keeping them from getting the text into their browser, you can do this pretty easily with a theme component.

If you want to not release the full post to the browser, you’ll need a plugin.

Well, the annoyance, is more of a ‘call to action’ to have them register to the site, and the newsletter.

I will have a gander at the Plugin area to see if I can find something that comes close to meeting my needs.

Thanks,

I don’t think there’s an existing plugin.

I’d say that the theme component is the way to go and that until you see that a bunch of people are getting around it somehow not worry that it’s possible. This is especially true if you have a non-technical audience.

Maybe Gated Topics in Category or Guest Gate Theme Component suit your needs
