you can see the topics “Welcome to the Hingham Yacht Club” and “How to receive email updates” with the upside down pin. These are not sorted at the top despite being globally pinned topics “Forever”. Why is this the case?

Pinned topics become unpinned for a user once they read it. Under admin > settings there’s a setting called automatically unpin topics you can use to disable it.
