I am having trouble defining the group as a category moderator.
I checked other topics but I could not find the solution.
I don’t think category moderators will appear in the group’s Permissions page. You should create a test account or use the Impersonate feature to check whether they can use these management tools on posts to verify if the settings have been successfully applied.
For example, here I created a group named Test and granted moderation permissions for a category. Even though there are no records on the Permissions page, when they click the show more button at the bottom right corner of a topic, they can normally see the delete topic and post admin actions options.
Settings in Security are what will be recorded here.
I think I expressed myself incorrectly. I don’t think we can grant moderation permissions to groups; I think only group-specific categories are created.
The feature I’m looking for is to assign the group as a moderator to the category and give group members the authority to control topics only within that category. I don’t want them to interfere with other areas. Is there a way to do this (other than granting moderator permissions individually)?
Isn’t the category moderator exactly what you need? The Group set here only has moderator permissions within that category.
Category moderators (In addition to staff, content in this category cn also be revoewed by) is already the thing you want. It only grants moderation permission of the selected category.
