calebs proposed hiding the edit icon for non-staff members to maintain a professional appearance, as guidelines and rules are frequently revised. Steven suggested unchecking the “edit history visible to public” setting, but calebs clarified that the concern was the edit pencil itself, not the edit history. Steven provided a CSS customization solution to hide the edit pencil, which calebs successfully implemented, resolving the issue.
I know this has been brought up before, but as a starting forum, we are constantly revising the rules, as well as our guidelines and with these edit icons, it kinda looks unprofessional. To prevent this, we have to delete the whole thing and post it again, which can be quite hectic.
We would really want to have it enabled for staff members only. Or at least keep the pencil and not show the number of edits.
Yeah, it’s been unchecked. I did not mean the edit history, but the edit pencil. It just makes the guidelines topics look unprofessional and we need to update them from time to time.
