I created a group with 25 or so « helpers » and then created a topic in which I mention the group. I was expecting it to notify the people who are part of the group. A member just told me she did not get the notification — I don’t know yet about the others.
Is this expected behaviour (ie, did I misunderstand the purpose of mentioning a group?) or is there a setting somewhere I might have missed for this?

No I had not read it, because it did not come up in my searches.
I have now and it doesn’t elucidate anything: I set the authorisations for mentioning the group when I created it, mentioned it with my Admin user and got warning notification that mentioning the group would notify my 25 users.
Do the users in the group have access to the topic? Are they able to read it?
yea if it’s a private category they don’t have access to, they won’t get a notification and that is expected behavior.

Normally yes, and the user who told me she didn’t get a notification, for sure.
I think I’d try if it works if you @mention her by using her username (without changing other parameters - also creating a new topic, same category, same tags, …). Then we know for sure it’s about the group mention
