Our forum is considering adding a “Languages spoken” field.
How is your forum taking advantage of custom fields? Bad experiences? Good experiences? Advice?

good experiences and work well when integrated with other tooling, like groups, categories and automations.
for example, i use them to tailor the user experiences by group. they select from a drop down menu and whatever option they choose automatically adds them to a group and by doing so, affects their UX and other functionality (ie: custom siderbar menus, leaderboards, category permissions, etc.).
advice - have a reason or strategy for using them. personally, i’m not a fan of pointless custom user fields just for fun (although to be fair, “just for fun” could be argued as a legit reason on some forums lol).
