Para futuros buscadores: puedes usar NGINX delante de la instancia de Discourse, puedes configurar X-Real-IP a una IP fija 127.0.0.1:

  location / {
    proxy_pass http://unix:/var/discourse/shared/standalone/nginx.http.sock:;
    proxy_set_header Host $http_host;
    proxy_http_version 1.1;
    proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto https;
    proxy_set_header X-Real-IP 127.0.0.1;
  }

No lo omitas porque obtendrás errores y la aplicación fallará al iniciarse:
