AllinProgram asks about implementing single sign-on (SSO) between an app using Logto for authentication and a Discourse forum, aiming to allow seamless access via the app’s login. They inquire if SSO is feasible and seek advice from others who have implemented such a setup. Lilly responds by pointing to official Discourse documentation on SSO and the REST API, which provide the necessary guidance for integration.
I currently have an APP, and both the backend service and the APP use Logto as the user center.
Now I want to add a forum function to the APP. My idea is to use an open source forum program and access it through the API.
For the forum program, I perfer to choose Discourse.
The question now is:
Can the APP, as the only entrance, achieve single sign-on between the above systems? For example, after opening the APP and logging in with Logto, you can directly use the forum API to post.
Has anyone done such a design? Is it feasible?
Looking forward to your answer, I will be very grateful for it. If you have any questions, I will add information in time.
