Com um pequeno fórum (backups de 500MB), meu ./launcher rebuild está falhando em um disco de 50GB por falta de espaço. Enquanto tentava descobrir o que mais limpar (apt autoremove e ./launcher cleanup não renderam nada), encontrei várias centenas de megabytes de locales inúteis em /var/lib/docker/overlay2/.../merged/var/www/discourse/public/assets/locales.
Infelizmente, comecei a excluí-los antes de tirar a captura de tela, mas ainda é possível ver muitos arquivos JS duplicados aparentemente transpilados para o mesmo idioma. Algo pode ser feito no código do Discourse para evitar isso? Os arquivos .map são usados para alguma coisa?
Além disso, meu fórum usa apenas inglês. Como posso optar por não usar todos os outros idiomas?
O diretório /var/www/discourse/public dentro do contêiner não é montado no host… então tenho quase certeza de que todos eles serão descartados sempre que você executar ./launcher rebuild app em uma instalação padrão.
O servidor está realmente executando apenas o Discourse.
Executei os comandos, encontrei alguns erros sobre os locais e agora a saída está presa em FATAL: database files are incompatible with server. The data directory was initialized by PostgreSQL version 13, which is not compatible with this version 15.12.
Acidentalmente excluí algum arquivo de local importante? Aparentemente, en_US.UTF-8 foi regenerado com sucesso.

Sim, elas persistirão nesse caso. Mas forçamos atualizações da CLI pelo menos uma vez a cada 6 meses, então não acho que será um grande problema.
Em relação aos locais, estamos planejando fazer algumas alterações para que sejam compilados “just in time” quando solicitados pela primeira vez. Deve ser muito mais eficiente, já que a maioria dos sites opera em apenas um idioma.
O servidor tem 2GB de RAM. O Swap está configurado para mais 2GB.
Eu o atualizei do Ubuntu 16 (eu sei) para o 18 in-place, atualizei /var/discourse/containers/app.yml para conter as três configurações de locale env, e agora a migração do PostgreSQL da v13 foi bem-sucedida, e a versão mais recente do Discourse parece estar rodando bem no Ubuntu 18.
