For your use case, why not simply put the categories in the `Categories not to indent’ box?

I agree, it would be nicer to just indent subcategories. However, at the time @Lilly developed this TC that was quite tricky to achieve. Personally, I find the above solution very workable unless your categories are unusually dynamic.

Feature Request - expandable / collapsable subcategories

I’ve seen a few posts about this but none have definitive answers. Does the Unreal Engine Discourse (featured on the Discourse “Discover” page) have a completely custom theme, or are there components that can achieve this? I also notice they display the subcategories as top level links when you click into one, and then beneath it lists all the topics. It looks like what’s happening here is setting “Subcategory List Style” to “Rows” on the parent category to achieve that?

I do wonder if it would work as an extension of this Theme Component.

We could potentially have some budget to go towards this if anyone is interested in joining forces.
