Hey Discourse,

We have an international section on our Discourse instance and we updated the category slug as it was different from the actual name.

We changed our Portuguese announcement category to “Atualizações e Anúncios” or as the logs are displaying it “/c/categoria-em-portugues/Atualiza%C3%A7%C3%B5es-e-An%C3%BAncios/91” which has now caused that category to not load or sometimes prompts the user with an infinite redirect error.

This also happens with other languages too such as French & German

We’re unable to rename the slug, any suggestions on how to fix this?

Looks like I’ve fixed it by changing the site setting slug generation method to encoded instead of ascii
