5. האם ניתן לדעת את כל הקטגוריות שיש למשתמש, יחד עם כתובת הדוא"ל שלו? מקרה שימוש אחד הוא שליחת הודעות דוא"ל למי שמתעניין בקטגוריות ספציפיות, ואם שליחת הדוא"ל מכוונת ליותר מקטגוריה אחת, משתמשים שיש להם יותר מאחת מהקטגוריות הללו לא יקבלו יותר מדוא"ל אחד?

Is it possible for a user to select categories in a list of available categories to display in user’s Category list? (Not only at registration time but at anytime, for adding or removing them?) The idea is to display only categories the user is interested in?

The category list in the sidebar can be customised by clicking this icon (shown on hover) to add or remove categories as they like:

The categories can also be muted. A muted category won’t show on /categories (or at least: it will show all the way at the bottom in a hidden section).

In sidebar, yes, via the previous instruction No, sorry, only an admin can.

Maybe we can display them in groups or sub-menus…

No search is available on that page. But you could make only a few categories and then add subcategories to them. If you then use this setting to organise the category page, it might be less long:

Is it possible to make categories either “free to be added” in user’s category list, while for others, they would require authorization?

Hmm, not exactly. You can restrict categories to certain user groups in the security settings:

Users that can’t see the category, can’t add it anywhere. But there is no default way to let them ask for access. What would be your usecase here?

How do you do that? I know how to select which categories I want to have in there, but how do I change the order?
