Is it possible to change auto-close settings by category?

We’re exploring using our self-hosted instance of Discourse to run contests, and we’d like to auto close topics in contest categories after a certain number of replies (say 5). I see where I can set the entire site to auto close topics after 5 posts, but I’m curious if there is a way to adjust this at the category level.

Absolutely! It is indeed possible to control this at a category level. If you navigate to your category settings and scroll down a bit you’ll see this:

FYI you can also add topic timers to topics and set auto close

I’m afraid it’s not possible to auto-close based on post count per category or topic, only on time.
