Is there a way to set up a category such that:

  1. Users in a particular group can post without restriction.
  2. Users NOT in the particular group can post, but all their posts must be approved.

I don’t think so; they are separate concerns as options, as you’ve no doubt found. :slight_smile:

I think that a work around is to create a second category that requires moderation and then have the moderator move it to the desired category.
