Is there a component so when a topic is marked as Solved, the topic gets locked and a custom message is posted with it?

AI-generated summary

The discussion revolves around the question of whether there is a component that can automatically lock a topic and post a custom message when it is marked as solved. Moin suggests using the “solved topics auto close hours” admin setting, which can close a topic after a set time period (minimum 1 hour) once it has received a solution. However, the original poster 45thj5ej is looking for an immediate lock and a custom message, which is not possible with the current settings.

Moin mentions that this topic is about the solved plugin, and pfaffman suggests that a custom plugin might be needed to achieve the desired functionality. 45thj5ej clarifies that they are not experiencing problems with topics not being locked, but rather want to accomplish a custom message being posted when a topic is marked as solved.

Heliosurge suggests two possible plugins that might be able to accomplish the desired functionality: the Discourse Automation Plugin and a collection of automations. However, 45thj5ej has already looked into the Automation Plugin and does not think it currently does what they want it to do.

Basically, same as title.

You can auto-close solved topics

Looks like instant isn’t an option? 1hr minimum?

Also need a custom solve/lock message or reply to be posted when solved.

Since this topic is about the solved plugin I added the tag. I did not mark this topic as solved.

I think you’ll need a plugin.

The reason there’s a delay is that sometimes people realize it’s not solved or someone else has another comment.

Have you had problems because topics are not locked?

No “problems,” per-say, but for my purposes, would heavily prefer an immediate lock, but the main thing I want to accomplish here is a message that gets put when Solved.

Not sure but either of these two might be able to accomplish your needs

And (this is another collection of automations)

Hey, yeah, I made a comment on the Automation Plugin. I don’t think it currently does what I want it to.
