List of backlinks not showing at the bottom

The links are correct, because I can click them and they send me to the destination topic, but there’s no backlink at the bottom of the destination topic. This is happening with two new topics I created. Old ones are working as expected.

They actually have links to each other but only one is showing the backlink to the other one.

I don’t think this is a “timing” issue, because it’s been 30 minutes. Hard refresh or incognito doesn’t solve the issue.

Was the link added in an edit, or with the original topic?

I had this topic, let’s call it topic ABC. So I opened ABC, clicked the pencil to edit, copied the whole thing. Created topic XYZ, pasted that whole copied content. Saved.
Then on topic 123, which was the one that was pointing to ABC originally, I went and edited the old link from ABC to XYZ.

Now on 123 I see the backlinks from XYZ (again both topics link to each other), but in XYZ I don’t see the backlinks to 123.

Hope that makes sense?

There are consistency jobs that run only every 12 hours, so waiting for 30 minutes might simply be not enough.

I tried to reproduce your problem, but it failed. Can you help me to find out which step was wrong?

  1. Create topic “Topic to link to 1” (ABC in your example)
  2. Create topic “Topic to link to 2” (XYZ in your example)
  3. Create topic “Backlink testing” (123 in your example) with a link to Topic to link to 1 in the body
  4. Look at Topic to link to 1 and see the backlink
  5. Edit Backlink testing replacing the link with the one to Topic to link to 2
  6. Look at Topic to link to 2 and see the backlink

Based on what you wrote above, the backlink would be missing, but for me that is working.
