I am trying to figure out which logo is being used on the preview of invite links. And: Is it possible to adjust the background-color? My logo is a white “r” with a yellow dot; because of the white background only the dot is shown

What kind of preview is this in your screenshot?
As far as I know, anything not specifically disclosed falls back to the large_icon / favicon. Try re-uploading that with a dark background baked in.
It’s an invite link. I’ve added a shadow to both the favicon and large icon - probably takes a while to update.
Yes but… afaik an invite link gets mailed to someone or it’s an URL you share. Am I missing something here?
If you share the URL, e.g. in WhatsApp it adds this preview I screenshotted.
Okay, that background is entirely outside of the forums control then.
Afaik the preview client draws its own tile, which mostly renders thumbnails inside a white (or very light) tile by default, regardless of rest of it. Even if the dark card is dark, the image area is usually a white square the source PNG gets pasted onto. Transparent pixels = white pixels = invisible white “r”.
The change you did should work, but the external preview-renderers might take a while to pick it up. Should work fast with a brand new invite link though, to test.
