Minimize-Close Button Missing
The discussion revolves around an issue with the minimize-close button in Discourse. ProjeDEV initially reported the issue, sharing screenshots of the problem. Canapin suggested reproducing the issue on meta or try.discourse.org, but ProjeDEV confirmed it still exists on those sites.
After some troubleshooting, awesomerobot discovered that the minimize button only appears after a message is sent in a personal chat. This is a current design feature, but awesomerobot agrees that it should be updated to show the minimize button while editing users. ProjeDEV finds the feature unusual, but appreciates the support.
Hello @ProjeDEV ![]()
I don’t encounter the issue here with the light theme.
Can you reproduce the issue here on meta or on try.discourse.org?
If not, can you enable the safe mode on your own forum and see if it fixes the issue?
Hi,I’ve just test-rebuild it a minute ago. Now, my test site is ok. By the way the problem still exist on try & meta-discourse-org.
Thanks.
Which browser (and version) are you using?
I’ve tested on chrome and opera. My project uses Version 3.1.0.beta2 - [c8a4081a21]. And it’s ok, it works.
Sorry, should have been more specific… which version of Chrome?
Version 110.0.5481.104 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Ahhh I see now, totally overlooked it at first — we don’t show the minimize button until a message is sent. So if I click on the + in the sidebar to start a new personal chat, I get the window with the ability to add people, and that hides the minimize button.
Then if I send a message, it appears again
So we should update this so the minimize button is present in while editing users. Thanks @ProjeDEV!
Ooo. A bit strange feature
OK. Thanks for support.
