User Story:
My forum specifically disallows giving personal advice. Recently there was a new badge, “Guidance Counselor” and by default users could add this as a title in their user profile.
This created some confusion and required that after I disabled the title for this badge, I had to go into each user with the badge and make sure they hadn’t added it as a title.
If removing the permission to use the badge as a title pulled that title from users who had set it, then it would not be much of an issue (although still annoying). But the fact that there is no easy way to reverse makes me think this should be off by default.
