I recently installed Discourse on my server, but I’m facing an issue during user registration. When a new user tries to create an account, they get redirected to id.discourse.com instead of completing the signup directly on my forum. I want the entire signup process to stay on my own forum. Try going to /u/admin-login if you have an Admin username/email and password set up. Via the rails console, IIRC it’s: SiteSetting.enable_discourse_id = false

If you didn’t setup email, you can do so by editing the details in your app.yml file by setting up DISCOURSE_SMTP_USER_NAME and DISCOURSE_SMTP_PASSWORD variables. IIRC you can disable Discourse ID completely with the enable discourse id setting. See this section for setting up email: Enter these…

I did all the above mentioned steps but the main issue remains the same. In admin Settings, I turned off the discourse ID but now when user clicks on ‘signup‘ no field is shown on the page.

Hmm… do you have the allow new registrations setting enabled?

I set my instance up and I guess made a mistake in the email setup but have corrected it in the app.yml and ran a rebuild but I can’t even log in with the admin account, it directs to Discourse ID. Can I disable Discourse ID in app.yml or using rake or rails c console?

Thank you Nate! The /u/admin-login worked perfectly. I thought it was just a password reset form for a second, but it is in fact a login-by-email form. It could do with some wording to indicate that.
