New wordpress user = new discourse account

Basic question: I have installed the Wordpress plug in but I am confused by the options.

I want new users of my wordpress site to be automatically given accounts in Discourse, with ideally the same credentials as my wordpress site, but I don’t want to overhaul / replace the existing Discourse community log in process. Is this possible?

(My community is working great but it’s a pain to get new students to join.)

Hey Daniel,

I’d like to understand a bit more about what you’re looking to do:

  1. Do your students log on to Wordpress for any other reason, aside for getting access to Discourse? (e.g. to access teaching materials on Wordpress perhaps?)

  2. When you say you don’t want to replace the existing Discourse log in process could you explain your thinking there a bit more?
