I have a user who is basic member, is not disabled, has allowed to receive digest mails on absence, has configured an email and shows activity back in February.
I have a higher setting for “suppress digest after 600 days” so this cant be the reason the user never got a digest mail dispatched (according to the Admin / Email / Sent list). Are there any other conditions which could inhibit digest creation for them? How can I check?
I see quite a large number of sent digest mails daily but there is no good way to see which users had received any - or which user are missing from that?
I actually dont know if it still happens as it’s Not easy to see - maybe with the rails console? I do get quite a few sent Digest mails in the Logs so it’s not too bad
Yeah, I think that’s the problem we assumed the digest was sent at the specified intervals, but for us they are not. And you are correct there is no way to know that each day there are x digest scheduled and all x were sent.
It’s a problem because users expect to receive the emails based on their settings. Also, stating the obvious the digest are intended to drive community engagement so when they aren’t sent at the specified intervals any analysis about how the community is doing is invalid as your going to be missing out on users.
