Not public RSS Feed?

AI-generated summary

The discussion revolves around accessing a non-public RSS feed from a password-protected Discourse site. Wurzelseppi seeks a way to whitelist a host to read the RSS feed without disabling the ‘Login required’ setting, as their Confluence RSS reader macro cannot authenticate. bloomexperiment suggests using the RSS Polling Plugin, which allows RSS feeds with authentication enabled. However, Wurzelseppi explains that the OAuth2 Basic plugin redirects unauthenticated requests to the login portal, preventing the RSS feed from being accessed directly. The thread remains unresolved, with Wurzelseppi seeking further guidance.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask, if it would be somehow possible, to whitelist an host to read not public rss feeds ?

I´m not very comfortable to switch “Require authentication to read content on this site, disallow anonymous access” “false”, but I want to show the latest topics on Atlassian Confluence with the RSS reader macro.
This macro has no means to log in first, so I´m stuck at the moment with the setting "
Require authentication to read content on this site, disallow anonymous access." set to “false”

Is there something I missed ?

Thanks and Greetings,

WS

I think you should be able to use the Discourse RSS Polling Plugin:

You can add RSS feeds through their RSS URL like so:

And it should let you have the Login required setting turned on:

But I’m a bit unsure what you mean – can you clarify if this is what you want? ^^

Hi there, jap, that would probably work, if the oauth2 basic plugin would not directly route the unauthenticated request to the Idp-Portal :frowning:

Therefore the

https://mycommunity.example.net/latest.rss?api-key=xyz

leads me directly to login mask and the rss client spits out an error :frowning:

no hints here ?
