Currently, I have only one forum in my discourse hub, so I don’t find this screen very useful.

My wish workflow would be:

  • the user clicks on the app icon
  • loads and opens the forum in the latest tab – this happens today when I click on the forum.

Currently, my workflow is:

  • the user clicks on the app icon
  • have to choose where to open(new/unread/team/latest)
  • click on the forum

This feature could be opt-in; the user could be asked when first adding the forum if they want to open it by default.

All other functionalities should not be affected. If I want to access another forum, I would click the down arrow and return to the hub home screen.

I’m still configuring the mobile app—I started using it a few days ago. I’ll add more forums with time, but I feel that even if I had more forums, I would like very much to open a specific one because I mainly use it.

On a side note, adding Discourse Discover to the home page(of the app) would be a nice feature.

커뮤니티를 하나만 추가할 의도인 사용자에게는(저에게는 그런 사용자가 있습니다) 기본적으로 첫 번째 커뮤니티를 표시하는 것이 좋을 수 있습니다. 단, 더 많은 커뮤니티를 추가할 수 있다는 것이 명확하게 표시되고(어떤 방식으로든) 일종의 알림이나 리마인더가 제공된다면요.

I like this idea, my only concern is usability with multiple sites, I can see one of them loading by default be surprising to users…

But for the edge case where you only have one site, this makes sense.

Yeah, I was thinking in the case when I get a notification for a X forum but my default is Y forum.

It could get annoying to open on Y instead of home.

Clicking on the notification is for me the default, but I know some users that see the notification and go click on the app icon to check it out.

We are a relatively new site. When I started using the Hub the beginning of this year, it would automatically go to our site. I just removed it and reinstalled it to get some screen shots of the steps, and now I have to click the single choice each time. Something must have changed…

Is this on iOS or Android? And please expand a bit, the issue is that if Hub has one site, when launching the app, you need to click on the row of that site in the home view of the app?

This is on android.
On my tablet, I have an “App installed from Chrome” version 1, that goes straight to the community selected. This is from February.

I also have a recently installed version 2.1.2 that takes me to a page to launch the site that I want, even though it only has one site listed.

Right, so the PWA, the “App installed from Chrome”, should always open the site directly. DiscourseHub will open the app with a list of sites, in your case, with only one site. Not sure what your question is here…

It sounds like this is my error if the app “installed from chrome” was not the Hub. I don’t recall how that came about, but will investigate it as an easier way to do things with only one site.
