Open pingable group that anyone can join or leave

Hey all! I am trying to sort out if it is possible to create a group that anyone can join. I want it to be a sort of opt-in thing, perhaps joinable by clicking a link? The group can then be pinged for events. Is this possible? Thanks!

Yes in the Group setup has options for freely to join and allowed to Leave
