The discussion is about creating a custom page with a filtered list of topics created by founding members in a community. alex_VIDAL wants to add this page to the top navigation bar, but is having trouble achieving this natively or with theme components and plugins. NateDhaliwal suggests using the /filter feature, but notes that it’s limited in that it can’t specify topics made by a specific group. alex_VIDAL has tried filtering by tag, but the layout is different from the default homepage views. NateDhaliwal suggests hiding the filter box and button using CSS, but alex_VIDAL wants to maintain the same view as the Latest, My Posts, and Bookmarks pages. RGJ recommends a plugin, Homepage Filter Plugin, which can filter posts made by users in a specific group, and NateDhaliwal thinks this is a perfect solution.
I think you can play around with /filter to achieve this. The only limitation I see on this is that you cannot specify topic which were made by a specific group, as in any member of the group.
It adds a new discovery page called “Home” which filters for posts made by users in a specific group that you can configure in the settings. It shouldn’t be hard to change the name “Home” to something else.
