Perspective shutdown Dec 31: what happens to scores when the API returns an error?

For the admins here running the Perspective plugin: with the Dec 31 shutdown approaching, I looked at how the plugin handles responses without attributeScores, and it defaults them to 0.0 — silently treated as clean. That’s the error-body shape, not a connection failure (those raise a visible error).

I’m trying to figure out a sane plan before December, and the part I can’t get past is thresholds. Every migration guide gives a mapping table, but the scores don’t map one to one, so my current thresholds are basically guesses on the new scorer unless I test them against my own community’s traffic first.

How are other admins handling this? Are you switching before December, and if so, how are you deciding the new thresholds — mapping table, trial and error on live traffic, or something else? And has anyone checked what their forum does on an error response today?
