Does the same happen if you look at images here on Meta? This is an example topic with some images.
Does safe mode change anything?
Does safe mode help? Perhaps a component or plugin could be affecting lightbox behaviour.

the same issue after applying the safe mode
I can reproduce the issue here on Meta after changing my interface language to Arabic
So I think it’s a Bug in the updated lightbox feature

Check here it’s shows that even discourse meta when changed to arabic shows the same way
