Not possible atm, and I don’t believe there is theme component/plugin that does this. There is Discourse Indented Subcategories , but those don’t collapse afaik. If you really want it, you’ll have to make your own or post in Marketplace if you have a budget for it.

Thanks. So I just tried discourse-collapsed-sidebar-sections-by-default but it does not fire (nothing changes/no collapse). (tested as guest with incognito and logged in with test account). Trying to troubleshoot that. Thanks for follow up, noted on options.
