Private category descriptions remain in English despite translation

Hope everything is going well !

I just realized in my forum that the language localisation of private category page descriptions are not working as expected.

Indeed, even if all category descriptions are translated in all languages and duly added in the setting of the category, changing locale keeps the description in the original language (english in my case) instead of using its translation.

To be noted that the gap I am highlighting only relates to:

  • Private categories only - regular/public category are working well as expected.
  • The description of the category - pinned topics and other elements are working well as I would expect.

Anyone experienced the same ? Anything I can do to fix this ?

Hmm I am finding it hard to reproduce this.

What are your current settings like? Do you have a theme component overriding here? Is it both the name and description not getting translated?

I understand and sorry if I did not give sufficient information.

The issue I am having is located on the category banner content of private categories (I have the category banner as theme component). When I go to each category pages, I have the category banner properly translated for public categories (incl. title and description) however for private ones, the language remains in English regardless of the locale chosen by the user.

I am not sure what specific settings I may have that would cause this.
