Provide discounts based on trust levels

It’s currently possible to add discounts based on trust levels?

Not currently, but that is a neat idea.

I suppose you could create coupons in stripe and maybe send them out via a private category that only each trust level could access. Then in the checkout process they can add the coupon code.

Last I tried (which was a long while ago) even with a coupon code for a zero price it still required a credit card.

Thanks, I’m planning to stick almost everything around us on Discourse

Discounts on groups should improve (a lot) the overall engagement. In communities based on subscriptions, almost everyone needs money incentives to do.

Is a workaround possible? Want to offer a lifetime discount to old users from the price list to our subscription.

If it’s a discount, then there is no problem. Just give them a coupon code. If you want to give them a free subscription then you can just add them to a group.

Needs to be permanent, no discount code input but a lifetime recognition.

It converts ~40/50% more. Zero friction always wins.

Do you want to charge them less money? (give them a coupon).

Do you want to give them recognition? Put them in a group with flair.

What is the problem you are trying to solve?

I’m trying to get them a lifetime discount without coupons, this means automatically (to specific group).

That’s what coupons are designed for.

But if coupons are too hard, another solution would be to have a separate product. It would show up on the list of products. You’d use CSS to hide it from people not in the group.

That’s the workaround. Coupons are not hard, they introduce friction and convert less.

Thanks.
