Hey gang.

For Indexnow, they want me to publish a .txt file with a specific value on my site. For example.

https://domain.com/sjkhdjh333.txt Is this possible with Discourse? I see it can be done for Google Adsense with ads.txt, but I don’t see an easy way to do this.

Right! I think that’s exactly what I told someone to do some years ago. I periodically seem to forget that /raw/ path somehow. So you just need to create a public topic with the text in it. You can unlist it so that it doesn’t show up in searches. As long as whatever is following the redirects, it should Just Work.

Uploading the .txt file is easy, but you’ll also need to come up with a way to push/submit new topics to the indexnow api in step 3: How to add IndexNow to your website | Bing Webmaster Tools

This will be accomplished via Ahrefs, who give you the option to submit once it has crawed your site!
