引用回复/分享弹出窗口破坏了“在新标签页中打开所有外部链接”设置

Hello and sorry for posting yet another “Open all external links in a new tab” related topic! :sweat_smile:

Setup

  1. Go to My Preferences: Interface
  2. Make sure “Open all external links in a new tab” option is enabled

Confirm setup

  1. Go to any post that contains an external link (a link outside this meta forum)
  2. Click an external link

It will open this link in a new window / tab of your browser. :+1:

Reproduce this bug

  1. Go to any post that contains an external link (a link outside this meta forum)
  2. Double click any word in this post to make Quote reply / Share appear
  3. Click an external link while the popup is still there

The external link will now be opened in current window / tab, instead of a new. :-1:

A random post with external links, if you don’t find yours quickly.

I forgot to tell my tested browsers, in case it is only happening with them:

  • Windows 10 Vivaldi latest version
  • Android 9 Firefox 68.11.0

Closed as reposted here "Open all external links in a new tab" does not work when you select some text
