Reason for link share username appending at the end

Our community is tring to reason why using discourses default share button appends the users username at the end: Inderes.fi tuotekehityksen päivitykset #techtalk - Kehitysideat - Osakesijoittaminen

that u=yu_gong part.

Whats the reason for that and is it intended? :slight_smile:

It tracks shares. You can earn badges for it.
