Recurring events management glitches

I notice that any attempt to alter any one day in a recurring event results in any preceding recurring events disappearing, and then every event from the amended day going forward is also amended.

Is there any ability to edit a recurring event so that one day can be amended without affecting all of the other entries?

Try selecting “This occurrence only” when editing the recurring event. That should let you change one date without affecting the rest of the series.
