I don’t think there’s currently a way to do this without some custom work. 
For ‘things in a similar area’ that could maybe give inspiration, there’s the invite links which can have the ‘Arrive at topic’ option set, and there’s also the Redirect users to top page admin setting:
Redirect users to top page
Automatically redirect new and long absent users to the top page. Only applies when ‘top’ is present in the ‘top menu’ site setting.
