My Discourse forum is invite only. I love this but I would like the ability for users that arrive at the forum via search or other means to request an invite.
Currently there’s no obvious way that I can see for a user to gain access to the forum in that way.
They log in, and you approve the logins in the approval queue.
This already exists.
in the invite only mode, it doesn’t seem to allow non-invited users to be able to login/sign up. is there any particular setting for this?

there’s a very small-huge problem, if i enable the “must approve users”, I will revoke the access of previous-members. is there anyway to inhibit this problem?
The users on your system are already approved (you can see this in their admin pages)
I don’t expect you’d have any issues enabling must-approve on an existing discourse.
